Acne vulgaris is a common dermatologic disorder caused by follicular colonization of Propionibacterium acnes leading to inflammation. Enzymatic virgin coconut oil monoglyceride has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and antimicrobial activity against Propionibacterium acnes.
